With a .338 GNR Encore pistol. It was down but thrashing a bit. It fell on the downhill side exposing its underbelly. Doug had a 5” S&W “Victory” pre-K frame .38 Special. It was loaded with LEE tumble lube 124 gr. 9mm projectiles ahead of 5.5 gr. Unique (best I can figure). He shot the beast square between the legs in the chest. The bullet centered the heart, to exit, penetrating the spine on its way out. A .38 Special! I’m almost certain velocity is under 1000 fps. It’s only one real work case but it’s shot through a bunch of stuff before too. Just a clean .35 cal. hole in and out.
