Always wanted a 10/22 because I could get all the aftermarket support, but when it came time for my first rifle, dad wasn't as well informed as this youngster and didn't see the needed expense over the marlin 60. I grew fond of it, could hit a rabbits eye at 50 yds and headshots were the norm anywhere on our ten acres. Since then I have had many 10/22's come and go, but the Marlin still lingers safely in the safe, might get passed up on occasion, but is the go to when the shot counts.
