But for something as big as a horse I prefer an edge, something .338 diameter or larger and north of 200 grs. I don't really rifle hunt but some of these guys are getting our there a little. I see the cartridge was a military round and they want to expand that some, fine. It seems to be about the same as a .270 Win., about.
It hasn't even gotten started yet. Maybe Boddington will try it on African Buffalo! lol. He likes to hunt them. I never have shot the .270 much, neither fish nor fowl to me. Sort of between a .25-06 and .30-06 to me. Lot's of my friends that can't handle the recoil of a .30-06 use it with great success. I know guys kill Elk with the .243 and .270 but not ME.
