You would never know it now. The young easily manipulated and undereducated are trying to erase history. This is what in recent times ISIS and the Taliban have done.
Charlottesville is 50 miles to my SW, there was a violent confrontation there, neither party was wholly right. The Antifa were there to protest the protest, had no permit and the authorities allowed them to assemble close to the permitted group.
The chief of police and the mayor are culpable.Antifa is never mentioned in the news.
I fear for the future of my grandchildren.
News is no longer news, it is a propaganda arm of the left.

The big lie is propounded as truth until it is.
