About a 400 gr. at 2000 fps is my limit in a 6 lb. pistol, with scope, complete rig. I actually prefer about 1900 fps and figure that would do about anything for me. I shoot a 260/270 gr. in .378 at 2250 all the time in a 5 lb. rig, but that extra weight bullet really bites me. The 500 gr. at around 1700-1800 is all I want in an Encore handgun.
Trail Boss pushing it 1000-1200 is easy and it still shoots through about anything. The trajectory is very loopy at much over 100 yds. though, that's where the extra speed and sectional density come into play.
I'm not sure if I'm a sissy, or just getting old. I have to really be mad at something (or scared) to hit it that hard anymore.
