for years in our Black Mamba and the Skorpion. Never had any problems. Stay with bullets under 300 grains and don't run hard core max loads. We haven't had any problems. Look at the new Model 69 from S&W. It is a 44 mag on the L frame and the Ruger 5 shot cylinders are considerably beefier. Use common sense and you will be fine.
