A lot of new shooters buy a Ruger 44 Mag because their buddy has one. Then they shoot it a few times and just can't handle the recoil. It is not unusual for us to get a Ruger 44 mag in at the shop in trade or just buying it out. Surprisingly a lot of new shooters don't like the 44 Magnum. They bring the gun into the shop and have a box of ammo with 3 or 4 rounds missing. Not everybody is a recoil freak.
This is the gun you guys are looking for. Even if it is a 10 year old gun with a couple of hundred rounds run thru it, that is still the buy of the day.
For the 475 Linebaugh, a 454 Casull, or even a 500 Linebaugh that is still the perfect gun. We are only going to use the frame and some of the internal parts. The other parts are set aside in case we need those parts to help out another person. Nothing is thrown away. With the parts shortages these days everything will be used.
Check the gun shows for that used Ruger 44, The gun shows are not known to give great deals but every once in a while you run across one of those special deals, Remember if the finish is worn off and the grips are broken that gun is still the deal of the day as you can probably get it at a great price. Work the action. If the action works with no hitches or parts rubbing, it is probably just what you are looking for as you can probably get it at real deal.
