It’s the straight grip “carbine” version. Very handy, and that hot little .25 cal. gives up little to the popular .243. We shot the Hornady 117 gr. RN. A great whitetail killer, running north of 2500 fps. That’s the little Savage to have. I think I read the original 1985-99 Savages were built by Marlin?! They run around $3000 for collectors! Crazy.
The .300 Savage is a good case design and right on the heels of the .308.
