Rifle Scope

Good morning all. I have a Nikon Monarch UCC 6.5-20x44 rifle scope on my rem 700 and the other day I looked at it and the horizontal crosshair came loose and was drooping down. I sent it back to Nikon to be repaired and they are telling me that they have determined that it is beyond economic repair and since they no longer sell rifle scopes they are giving me a store credit, which to me is pointless because it doesn't solve my problem. So I guess I am on the hunt for a new rifle scope but have been out of looking for them for so long I don't know what is good anymore and what is not. Can y'all point me in the right direction of a decent rifle scope around/under $1000 or so. It does not have to be the same power as the one I had but would like something more than a 3-9x
