Light weight, if you use a pointer, you don’t need 3 inch shells. I’ve never used 3” in a 28, but the recoil might be more than this old guy would want. I’ve used 28 gauge for rabbit, mountain quail, and pheasant (with a German Shorthair Pointer), works better than 12 or 20 for me.
