When you get up there in years the times are rough on you. There were some posts that I had died when it was another Gary Reeder that had died. I thank Colleen for filling in for me since late December. She answered a lot of posts for me. For those that had wondered, I had a fight with shingles, which turned into Cancer. The shingles is something I wouldn't wish on my worst friend. I spent almost 2 months in the hospital that turned into another 4 or 5 months here at home and I still am not back to normal. I stopped into the Pistol Parlor a week or two ago but that was embarrassing as I didn't know anyone. My memory is non existent. My right eye is pretty much gone. I have my little black eye patch that I have to wear and if we go out evenings the little kids stare at me. I hear the little kids ask their Mom if I am a pirate. Between the eye patch and a limp I try not to go out more that necessary.
I made the HHC but it was a rough road. I didn't recognize people I have known for years. Those of you that I seemed to ignore you, I apologize but the memory just isn't there anymore. I am somewhat back to normal but still not there yet. I plan on being on here more and more good Lord willing.
I also thank Robert for filling in for me and doing the Black Chromex. I am learning how to engrave all over again but that is a lost skill.
For those that know Alcorn and James , give them time. They both have gone thru a hard time and are still not 100% yet. There are times when I walk down our hallway here at the house and I get halfway there and I stop and try to remember what I was going to do. Or I get phone calls from an old friend and halfway thru the call I have to ask them who is this.
Old age isn't for the meek.
