Some fitting, fiddling to my frames. And figuring the forend. Last .470 I did, I used a "shotgun" forend and re-tapped the holes for the larger big head screws. I might not do that initially this time, hard to find the components. *Never use laminated furniture for these heavy kickers, I found that out! Tore it to shreds even with glass bedding.
I plan on shooting the crap out of it with .510 GNR / .500 Linebaugh pistol projectiles and Trail Boss. Lots of fun. However the BRASS! It's $5.50 each and I hate to wear it out plinking and load testing. However the .500/.416 brass is only $2 each. What's to keep me from blowing that out straight and using it for my .500x3" Nitro plinking fodder? Factory ammo (and rightfully so for African serious use) is nominally over $20 per round!
