Once upon a time when I first got into law enforcement in the late 70's, we were allowed to trade in our issued S&W 4 inch model 10 and provide our own .357, either a Colt Python or S&W. I remember buying a 5 inch model 27 for just under $300 and carrying it for about 5 years. It was a shooter. It was tuned by a local gunsmith and sadly one day I had to sell it. One of those you wish you never sold. As the industry changed and transitioned to autos, it only seemed logical that I change to a 5 inch 1911, one gun that I still own and shoot. When I look into gun cases at gun shops today and see all the non pretty guns of today, I miss the era of walnut, polished blue and made in the USA. Looking forward to see what you create with this piece of history.
