In Fall of 1978 I was issued a model 10, blue, bull barrel, fixed sights, 4 inch, 38 special revolver. I was 21 and a brand new police officer. We carried 125 gr Winchester HP ammo and the only modification that was allowed was a grip change. Most of us installed the rubber Pachmayr Presentation Grip. Once we were permitted to transition to a .357 I changed over to a S&W model 28 Highway Patrolman. Back in the day these pistols were a solid, reliable work horse. You brought back memories from 4 decades ago, I am officially on the hunt for a model 10 such as yours.
