from Monsieur Boggs, S&W parts that he probably hornswoggled some blue haired old lady out of. Anyway, he wanted a S&W Model 28 in 357 Mag turned into a 500 S&W. I told him we couldn't do that but we could make it a model 57 in 41 Magnum. The gun had a lot of pits all over it from him carrying it in his underwear while checking his armadillo herd at night. We managed to turn it into a Model 57 for him. His red ramp front sight melted in our Black Chromex tank so we put a glow in the dark front sight insert in there for him in case one of the armadillos attacks him in the dark.He also wanted us to drill and tap the gun for the Leupold base and rings. The gun turned out pretty decent. Perfect for an Arkansas possum Bar-B-Q or for their monthly church Rooster neutering.

Great job Gary. That is a gun he got from me. It belonged to a guard at Angola in Louisiana who carried it most of his career. It surely looks a lot better than when I had it. Great work by you and your crew as always.

Come full circle that's cool isn't it Stone?!

Every gun has a story. I sadly let my last blue 4" M57 slip away in a moment of weakness and greed, enticed by the siren sing of a considerable profit. It was a gun show some 25 yrs. ago. I made about 35% on that one trade deal. I wished I had it back every since. My Uncle Ed who was a PD Chief passed a while back, all I got from his estate was some badly battered S&W grips. Stonecold came through in my search for an N-frame with some history. The M28 was nice but lacked poop from my point of view. I still wanted a .41.

A whole bunch of things came together, scheming, planning, and this resulted. That sure makes it even more special. Homage to my Uncle, the old Angola guard, My good friend Stonecold, and the Reeder clan, so so special to me. Thanks to all!

and reeder paid homage to your armadillos too

I'm beginning to have a little trouble with Skunks though. That is some tricky business indeed!

Must be hard branding armadillos with the SB. Nice touch.
