Oddball question

Saturday I decided to take a little time off in the AM and do a bear hunt. A young lady I work with told me that they have been seeing bears in her old home town so I decided to do some ground pounding.

Set up a deer fawn decoy and Fox Pro called. Sat for a while with my Ruger Redhawk to no avail. There are bear as I found their droppings.

What I found next is still kind of disturbing me for some strange reason

I climbed and walked the ridge of a small mountain and then descended into this deep ravine. I found some deer tracks and summized this may be a hotspot.

Well. As I was walking I spotted something odd.

A black Adidas sneaker.

I found it quite odd to find this in the middle of nowhere. There are no walking trails or paths of anykind into this ravine. Also the location is at least 1 1/2 miles from the nearest road. I was in deep, so to speak.

I am not sure but a couple friends told me to call the police and just let them know what you found. Again it is odd. I do know that in that particular area at least three young women were murdered and their remains found later.

Again. You can say what you want but this is bugging me for some reason
