I have 3 weeks to decide on a gun for the HHC

I am now at a little over 3 weeks since the surgery on my right hand and I am not sure I can handle the recoil of my "baby", my 9" 41 GNR or my little stainless 9" 356 GNR. The stitches were taken out last week so everything is still tender.

I am going to get my guys to build me a couple of TC barrels. The 257 Raptor barrel is one of my favorite ones. I took a cow Yak at the HHC with it a couple of years ago. The 7 GNR has been my gun of choice for many years for the longer range shots. I will try several and see which ones work best. I usually go for a Bison or some big critter so I have to take that into consideration. The 41 GNR has never failed me yet on well over a dozen large Bison type animals but I don't want to go down too low in power. So I have 3 weeks to get ready.

Don't over do it.

Go the black powder route.

What bullet would you use for yak sizer game?

I used a 100 grain bullet with that old weird hard point.

On the box it said it was a bronze point. The box was probably from the 1950s.

Is that a two piece design? Or just crimped?

If a could only take two..

I'd go with the 41 and the 257..

But if I could only take one, it'd be the 7GNR.

But you could take all 4 and see what happens..

Yea... I didn't read all of that first post.

Take the 7mm with a brake. That'd be hard to beat with a 140gr and a 120gr load on hand. The 7mm is an easy shooter anyway. With the brake, you're gold.

Oops, me too!

3 weeks should make it almost good as new, if you take it easy. If it's still bothering you maybe a 300GNR.

The 257 Raptor kills way beyond what it looks like on paper

The 7GNR like your falcons is the perfect case and volume for the G2 Handgun. Don’t need a brake and all the speed you need in a handy platform. What ever you choose will be fun to watch

Could get one of these stocks, still a handgun to some, pretty sure nobody will slight you for it.

that wouldn't work. 99% of my shots are standing offhand
