Went to a Friends Of NRA dinner tonight and bid on several rifles, one of which was a Sauer 100 Classic CT in 6.5. Got it for 650 as I wasnt going anymore. Oh well, its pretty......

Well, I'll congratulate you anyways...

The cartridge is the subject of much contention because it mimics many previous rounds. Thing is they were terrific performers too.

I have one in the Ruger #1. A limited Lipsey's gun that is designed to be very lightweight.

The 6.5s are very vogue these days. But, all these things tend to go in cycles.

My love affair started with the 6.5x55 in 1982. I still have it in a Ruger #1RSI and Encore 14". It's still on par with many new rounds.

Also have the 6.5x54 MS in a G2 Contender 14". The 6.5 Grendel is another fun and useful one in my battery. Works great in both rifle and pistol platforms.

All the custom guys, including Gary, have multiple 6.5mm offerings. The ones based on the 30-30 case interests me a lot.

You done good, enjoy...

Was a fun event! The 6.5 was a nice bonus.
