Thanks Gary, looks great and the trigger is awesome. I have a grip frame for it and will post some pics once I get to shoot it next weekend. Really dont know why its taken me this long to get one. I think it will be my go to for Antelope and Deer hunting in Eastern Montucky.

Great Cartridge. I was surprised with the SuperMag Threads..

It didn't come up. It gives 357 Maximum performance in a much lighter revolver.

I like it but I am biased. But when Paco Kelly and Lee

Jurras consider it their favorite handgun cartridge, two of the most knowledgeable gun men I know, then that tells me something.

Paco smoked 9mm bullets from the 356 GNR with 2400..

Powder. I lean towards the 180 grn XTP myself. Worked great on Impala in Africa a year ago today.

Also works great with Swift 180gr. If single shot, really works good with Hornady 180gr. ssp spitzer. I know, it is discontinued, but I have a few.

Yea and my 429 GNR easily equals my 445 SM

Only advantage the 445 SM has is you can shoot 44 mag or special for plinking. But since I have plenty of those, its a non issue. I imagine the 410 GNR outruns the 414 SM pretty easy also.

the 410 GNR easily beats the 414 SM by a considerable

in my Encore. Of the maybe 10 GNR cartridges I own, this is becoming my favorite. I mostly use it for whitetails.

This will be my next revolver caliber. Question

in a Blackhawk can it be a 6 shot cylinder?

Thanks

yes. It is based on a 41 Magnum case so any gun

.357 Max. performance in a regular chassis!

The heavier bullets seem to give me the best performance gains. The 158-180 gr. are my favorites. I remember trying some other powders and 4227 and W296/H110 are my favorites. I bet 1680 is good too but don't remember trying it. 4227 usually gives a little less speed than the H110 but not in the .356 GNR. My 4227 loads were about as fast as the traditional magnum propellants.

I need to get back to that gun.

New cylinder

New 356 GNR cylinder can be fitted to an existing 357 mag Blackhawk, right? If I want to keep the original 357 cylinder as is.

Gary added a cylinder to my 357 Mag/9mm Blackhawk...

Makes a versatile gun to the extreme. Factory sights worked fine with all three.

YES! Same goes for the .41 GNR, 6-shot and

keep the standard cylinder and get an added power increase and another Reeder to toy with. The .356 GNR truly gives .357 Maximum performance and the .41 GNR is about 85% of the .410 GNR on the .454 case! Basically a "Maximum" version of the .41 Mag. or I guess the .414 Super Mag. of old.
