I was having two issues. Case splits and primer flow. Both disappeared when I switched to 1680 powder.

The thing shoots heavy cast fast and super accurate.

Don't see how a hunter could ask for more.

Yes! 1680 has some good applications, slow pistol powder

It works well in K-hornet, the Banshees, .256 Falcon, .25-35, and even .45 Colt. With about all I can fit under a 300 gr. cast bullet and still seat it, the .45 gives me around 1000 fps in my 5-1/2 in Ruger. Super accurate too, reminds me of 4227.

It's a great forming powder in a necked .30-30 case FL to .256 Falcon and a 80 gr. cast bullet, near 2000 fps.

Well, you know I like Trail Guns and 25 Calibers...

But the 256 Winchester is definitely a sleeper.

Case forming requires a little effort. But, 357 cases are easy to find.

Exceeding all hopes at this point.

I really should add that Set Back issues have been zero...

I even left Imperial Sizing Wax on five and no set back.

1680 works great in 300 GNR too

Auto Mags and shooting the 44, 357 and 41 Auto mags. Lee Jurras told me to try a compressed load of Winchester 680, which is pretty much the same as the newer AA 1680. Anyway, when I shot the 44 ammo with 296 or H-110 when the brass shot out it sometimes went down my collar which brought on something similar to the Watusi or maybe the Mashed Potato. It burned like hell. When I switched to 1680 and a brass went down the collar somehow it was cool, no heat at all. I have no idea how it did that but it did.
These days I use a lot of 1680 in a lot of calibers and it just plain works. 1680 is a ball powder just like 296, H-110 and several others and I am a strong believer in compressed powder loads and a magnum primer with a ball powder. Lee pounded that into my head many years ago and I have stayed with it because it works.
