Hard to find a M97 in a modified choke, most are full and about useless except for squirrels at 60 yds! A M12 riot gun is factory 7-shot and so handy, slick.

Surely Huey has enough FA's.... but I bet not one like that.

Full choke 97 is great for trap

In Cheyenne they have a trap shoot, were the only gun allowed is a 97. All in fun.

I'm sure my 97 would work just fine

shoot so tight inside 25 yds. you can easily miss a running rabbit or other small critter, forget quail. Even if you connected there would not be anything left. I've made missing up close with a Winchester shotgun a pretty regular habit in my past. Now days I'm slow enough it's usually out a ways.

When I posted, I had forgotten mine

The old fellow bought it for his wife 15 years ago and she hated it so it was never fired. The is mint, no box or papers but is unfired. It has the choke tubes and is ready for whatever you need a great over/under for. I would give WB's left nut for this one but with 5 screws holding my shoulder on, a 12 gauge is out of the question. Book on it is $1240. It is sale priced at $850 plus shipping. That is $75 under wholesale.

SKBs and I hate to admit it but the Jap over/unders are the best shotguns out there. The Japs have made most of the high dollar shotguns for a lot of companies thru the years.

Love that full forend, I load a lite 12

Using Winchester wads and 16.5-17 gr. Red Dot and 3/4 oz. of #9's. Basically a 20 ga. load in a 12 hull. Less shot is exposed to the bore walls compared to a 20 (I think it patters better in my mind) and from a 8 lb. gun recoil is lots less.

I don't have near as much experience as some of the other guys but I do enjoy it given the chance. It makes a killer dove load too. I like shot smaller than 7-1/2 though for better density.

Weatherby is mine! Just called Colleen...
