I was visiting my granddaughter last night when I asked if I could borrow a newspaper.

"This is the 21st century," she said. "We don't waste money on newspapers. Here, use my iPad."

I run into this all the time for the most part in my class. The current generation is very dependent and in my opinion, t dependent on technology.

Often I have a young person, for my setting it involves the age group from 16 to 24, they ask me what time it is. I tell them look up on the wall at the clock. It is a standard analog clock. As astounding as this may sound I will state that 90% cannot tell time on anything other than a digital clock.

Bought a shirt at Sears a few months ago, it was $13.19. I gave the kid a $20 and a quarter and you should have seen the look on his face. Don't think he was used to cash either.

Was $.82 and I gave her a dollar. After several tries to count change, she counted me out 18 pennies.
