Reeder Custom Guns - Got a big box of bullets enroute for the 475!

I'm ready to start loading for this gun. I ordered a good quantity of 340 gr coated bullets. I'm sure those will do everything that I will ever need that 475 to do. Also ordered 1000 200 gr bullets for my 44 Mag. I'm just really excited to get back to loading and shooting.

So, anyone have suggestions on a powder for mid-power loads for the 475? I'm thinking 4227. Or any tips on the 475 in general?? Can I use 480 load data with the 475 brass and expect results to be similar?

i use 27 grains IMR4227 with Winchester large pistol primers and Hornady brass. Mid range load that works great on jackrabbits. With your lighter bullet, i would start with that 27 grain load, and then try 28 grains. Will probably lead a little without a gascheck.

.. for 4227. Not a lot of info on these 340s. I should probably start with 350 gr starting data. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll start there with the 4227.

use the upper end loads for the 480. Just make sure

That's in line with what I've gotten figured..

Handloads .com has data too, but not for 340s
