G-2 frames and they are a lot stronger than I first thought. Also remember several of the original 405 based cartridges were designed for the original Contender. Cartridges like the 378 GNR, 338 GNR, 350 GNR along with cartridges based on the 348 case (the 50 Alaskan wasn't around yet), cartridges like the 416 GNR, and 450 GNR and the 45-70 based 475 GNR and the 375 GNR#2 , all were tested on the old Contender.

Cartridges based on the 445 Super Mag like the 41 GNR#2, the 375 GNR and the 358 GNR were all based on the Contender.

So you can shoot the 366 GNR in the G-2, just drop your loads by about 5% and work up. When you see pressure signs or the cases begin to stick, drop back a grain.

I have a couple of G-2 frames that I have barrels on that I would never build for anyone other than myself, plus look at the S&W 44 Magnum that I rebarreled and built a 5 shot cylinder for it in 410 GNR, something normally I would rate as way too much pressure for a S&W. But it is doing very well with my upper limit loads so we shall see on that one. But give the 366 GNR a try in the G-2. I think you will be surprised.

Rifle, carbine, and pistol, was considerably more accurate at well below max. So the G2 should be a great platform for the 366. I will start low and and work up like always. Thanks Gary, going to start working on it tomorrow.
