Wouldn't that just be the old 9.5x57 mannlicher schoenauer?

I have no idea as I don't keep up with the calibers

in Europe. When I gave the numbers to Dave Manson, my reamer maker, who keeps up with calibers that are registered to people or companies, he said there was no paperwork on the 376 GNR at all. If any of our new calibers have been done before or are registered to someone else we don't touch it.

I just looked it up. Our 376 GNR is a totally

Thanks!

also known as the 375x2 1/4" RNE (Rimless Nitro Express) when chambered by Westley Richards was plagued with case failure and misfires due to the lack of positive headspace. The taper of the 8x57mm and lack of shoulder was a constant PITA.

Thats why the 9.3x57mm became popular. It was about as big as the case could be necked up and still provide positive headspace.

It would appear Gary has "Improved" a great idea from the turn of the century so it will actually work.

Since .375" bullets are easy to come by in the states, this should be a powerful cartridge without tremendous recoil and muzzle blast.

An added bonus will be reduced loads with 375 Win or 38-55 bullets for woods hunting.

Just my opinion...
