Noodle and I were talking the other day about a peep sight for the Super Blackhawk and I decided to do a little project. I discovered after we had discussed this that we hadn’t invented anything as there is a company that sells them. Oh well, it was fun to make anyway. I made the aperture smaller at 3/16”. I will shoot it in the next few days and see if it helps my eyes focus.
The guy that came up with that worked offshore with us...

He started "One Ragged Hole" specializing in sights.
He later became sick and sold the company. I believe Warren bought it.
He passed away shortly after that.
As a side note, the original sights were made from...

Banding material for securing bulk hose material fittings.
I have made a few from feeler gauges. I like

A smaller frame around the window than what that has. Don’t like to block the view of anything I am shooting at anymore than I have to. Just my $.02
Thanks for the info

I left it big and figured I can whittle it down.
So Gary, do our make a peep sight for your revolvers

hunting. They are great for target shooting but for a quick shot at something where I had 2 or 3 seconds to get the shot off, I have yet to see one that would work. It may be out there but I haven't seen it yet.
This works for me.

Yes, Warren is the current company.
I used a piece of scrap something or other.
Have you tried one?
Sure... I had some before they were sold publically...

Tried several different hole sizes and settled on two.
They are great with the small bead front.
I sent an original to Gary to put on my 3 1/2"

Southern Comfort in 454 with a a fiber optic front. He didn't like it but I do. It's an up close and personal usage backup. Works as I wanted for that.
I didn't like it because they were way too fragile

they sit high and the metal was too thin and the slightest tap on them snapped them off. I have seen at least a dozen snapped off at the top of the sight. I like a peep sight but the design of that one was flimsy.
Tried them twice and they were so flimsy

You could bend them holstering your revolver. Now if they were like Skinners!?
