LGS has one of these with a 3-9 power Z3 Swarovski scope. Just trying to get some advice about what a fair price would be. Gun appears to be in near new condition with one very small nick on the stock. They want $1500 for it with scope and $900 without.

What model the 257 was made in at least 3

configurations: 1A in blue; RSI the full mannlicher stock; 1B in blue? At the current prices for #1(have been escalating) $900.00 would be fair. The 1A is rarest and I have seen it go for as much as $1350+ and the RSI is generally more money to begin with coming in about $1000 - $1350 in really good shape. The 1B is the least costly one which you see in about a $850 to $1000 price range. I own all 3 of those above in .257 Roberts and have a stainless RSI on the way. Hope this helps.

If you want it , grab it without the scope. The Swarovski

Used that's a $500-550 scope in excellent condition. Great scope, but for less money a Zeiss Conquest is as good and a Leupold nearly so. IMO, as always, especially with scopes. The Z3 does have low weight in it's favor, but a 25 caliber No 1 isn't a lightweight regardless. I have a Z3 on a low wall in 260 because weight is an objective there.

Not a bad price on the rifle, but I'd say offer $800 and go from there. Dad hunts with a 1B 257 I got him for his 50th birthday. Loves it.
