but wood is quiet. So is laminate. Synthetic can be noisy but sure is tough and stable. Doug said you can treat a gun over there very toolish so don't cry over a ding.

a rifle with a really nice stock. Besides the thorns, you have the bouncing around in the Land Cruiser, possible shooting off your stomach, or at best off shooting sticks that can easily scratch your rifle. Besides, you are not going to impress anyone in Africa with a nice shiny rifle. Take a hunting rifle with you. Leave the fancy deluxe rifle at home.

Laminate stock with a matte finish barrel. Our guns got dusty and bounced real good. Keeping the scope lens clean was an issue. My guide keep saying keep the barrel low when I used the stainless rig. An “ugly” gun with a great trigger and good glass is all you need. It’s all about getting the animal down. You don’t have to put your tool in the photo!
