Still tickled with this gun. Glad I got the scope worked out. 300gr bullets are easy shooting, the magnum grip keeps the trigger guard off my knuckle, slim grip fits my hand well. Shooting roughly 2 inch groups at 25 yards with whatever I had on hand. Some really tight groups, too. Handloads should get me where I want this thing to be.

I'm hoping that I can get some high speed 200 gr bullets to shoot well in this one.

Duct tape blew off, so I put on a piece of thick leather over the whole thing and duct taped that down. Now I dont have that issue. Tried a fiberglass welders mat. That lasted 5 shots then frayed and blow into the wind.

Just an endless supply of tape

Rolled up goosedown coat under a 44 redhawk .killed the coyote I was shooting at ,looked like a goose blew up on the hood of my jeep,in my defense I was only 19

I bet real duct tape the aluminum type would work well

I'll give that it a try. I'm likely going to get a decent plastic rest like the one MTM makes.

Doug bought a cool MTM (I think) rubbery

dual platform U-rest. They fit inside each other for handy transport. I also have that neat Hordady plastic rest that has multiple levels, I like it but you will need a cloth to set atop that.

With solid rests use eye protection as the cylinder blast will backwash off the rest and into your face if it's is positioned in such a manner.

FWIW

Good to know. Hadn't thought of that.

filled with rice and wrapped with a couple of layers of duct tape. two shots with my 410 GNR cut the bag in half. And I had a .002 barrel/cyl gap. Still had enough rice scattered everywhere to keep 2 Chinese families happy for a week.

BREAK YOUR MUZZLE?

.. but not my heart. Even though I felt a little stupid for not paying attention.

I'll tell you this,.. this gun has 6 inches of barrel plus the muzzle break. I'm thinking that a 6 in 44 mag with no break just like this with iron sights might be darned near perfect. Maybe 5 inches, but no shorter.

BREAK?? TRY BRAKE.

Reminds me of a bit of humor from the past...

I had a 460s&w handgun. Loved that gun except for the weight. Went with a friend to a hunter sight-in that he wanted to shoot at. I had my own rest but the range officer was insistant that I only used the provided bean bags and wooden box. I tried to explain that that set up wont work as if I rest the barrel on it the brake will blow up thier bags and if i rest my wrist/ trigger guard on it the cyl pressure will have the same effect. You know the outcome of the story.... not only was beans all over but there was also carpet pieces and pine kindling all over the bench. The range boss decided to let me use my rest.... go figure....

To add to my story.... rifle shooters just do not understand

.. I was doing well. I had initially thought about the muzzle brake but on the last cylinder full I got complacent. But, hey, I can still wrap it in duct tape and use it with rifles.

I have one with a little duct tape on it. I still use it.
