simply use what is available. They tend to not be very gun savvy at all. Even police officers seldom know what grain ammunition they carry on a daily basis. They may simply say "issue HP" if that. Guides use whatever they have, not what's necessarily best for the job.

Was a Phoenix cop. During a camp out he told me he shot his gun once a year to qualify and hated it. All he knew was his gun was a 38 and thought it was a S&W, and not too sure about that. He was a patrol officer not a desk jockey. If that were my job I would want to be as good as I could with my gun and pray I never had to use it.

I shot 500+ rounds a week. Only negative was if weapons came out others would get behind me, "you know so I would have a clear shot!"
