As I googled for info on BP trapdoor shooting across numerous forums it was the one most referenced. I did order Matthew's book on BP cartridge metallic reloading.

I'd get a 50th Lyman's manual, but...

you can't find it, call Colleen. We always keep the Lyman reloading manuals in stock. In my humble opinion it is the best reloading manual on the market. Most of the other companies that print reloading manuals push their own bullets and their own powder and seldom that from any other company. Lyman doesn't make bullets or powder and they show bullets and powders from all the companies. Plus they will give you the factory load equivalent, the expected most accurate load, the ones that are the most efficient (least powder and fastest speeds), the loads that are compressed and so on. Lyman gives you a lot more than any of the other loading manuals.

Grover, I have an old copy of

a handloader special edition where there is an article about loading Pyrodex in the 45-70 in several rifles. If you want me to scan a copy for you, let me know.
