based on the 500 Linebaugh case.
I have loads worked up for both cartridges and will get to the range next weekend.
They are both very powerfull cartridges and can't wait to test them.

The 501 GNR on a BFR sounds great...

Done some measuring and can rechamber the 50 AE. Will be a much better cartridge with the rim.

the 501 GNR is one of the easiest to make cartridges we have

You simply run the 500 Linebaugh case thru the sizer die and it puts a very slight neck on it in .500 caliber and you have it. Beats the 50 AE easily like Huey said and easy reloading.

That slight neck should boost performance...

From a standard length revolver with reasonable pressures.

it did in our 500 GNR over the original 510 GNR

we took the 510 GNR and put that short neck on it down to .500 and it boosted the velocities a bit, about like adding another 2 grains of powder. But with only a very slight boost in pressure.
The same went with our 429 GNR and the 410 GNR. That slight neck on the 454 case boosted the power and velocities of both cartridges considerably.

Probably a nearly perfect cartridge for a Ruger #1...

scintillating and strangely bedazzaling new calibers. What I really need is a revised edition of the GNR Reloading manual!!!

we will have the data pretty soon but can't print a new

loading manual until we get all the data done. And there are still 4 or 5 new cartridges that Sean hasn't even started yet. As soon as I get the dies I send a barrel and the dies to Sean for all his testing and there are at least 4 or 5 new cartridges that I don't have dies for yet. but if you want loading data on the new ones just let me know and I can send the data to you for the cartridges that we have done the testing on. Plus the loading manual will be a lot bigger than the previous one (the red one), and that will take a few months to get printed.

Wating with bated breath for the a manual.
