Gary, Whats your take on chambering .327 fm in a Ruger Bearcat? I see you will do the 32 H&R in one an that is very tempting? Thanks
it shouldn't be a problem. We have done quite a few

well, maybe not quite a few but 4 or 5 of them.
On my short list for sure. A 4.2" Adjustable Sight Stainless

Base gun has already been secured. Hope somebody does one of these soon.
Have three guns being built at Reeder's now, so it'll keep.
I tend to look at everything from a handloader's...

Point of view. I'm torn between the 327 Federal and 32 Magnum.
The 327 Fed is HOT. Would be the Bearcat reply to the 454 Casull. But, for the Handloader, the 32 Mag offers some definite advantages.
If the gun is strong enough to hold the 327, then 30,000 psi published data for the 32 Magnum would fit just fine. In the short barrel, would crowd ballistically too.
Would certainly allow a much broader selection of bullets due to COL restrictions.
No doubt the 327 chamber would work just fine with 32 ammo. Decisions, decisions, decisions...

Huey are you liking the 32 H&R more?
I'm certainly leaning that way...

Ive done a lot of measuring and discussed this with Gary.
The frame window has to be opened in length for the 327 to fit. The 32 would definitely be stronger.
I load 32s with a taper crimp, so can get a 32 within probably 95% of the 327s performance.
My concern about the 327 is someone seating a bullet too deep (without reducing powder charge) to fit the confinements of the Bearcat platform.
Doing that with a high pressure, small capacity cartridge creates a hand held bomb.
I'm really liking the 327 Federal idea, but would have to be fed strictly by the book.
Gary's Maxi Throat would provide extra security against pressure spikes. So, an individual decision...

Huey,I am able to do well with a 100 grain lfn an Unique or fermins load with 2400 an a 125 in the 32 H&R an like you get close to a 327
Just my opinion, but these guns...

Aren't for long range work. So, I'd much prefer a heavier bullet for trail use.
Like you and Chris posted, a 115-125 grn at modest velocity rules.

I agree as well...Thanks
I would think 32 Mag would suffice? I'm guessing

115 grain çast bullets @ 1000 to 1200 fps would be the fun sweet spot for my wimpy hands? And I'm guessing the 32 Mag could do that.
