frame sits in a crucible at around 1400 degrees for a good while. Most fires burn hot but burn quick and burn out. So most guns can be salvaged with a bit of care.

About your services 30 years ago. I had 7 rifles and 8 pistols that were in a fire. Local GS said they could not be salvaged, three were Sako Mannlichers and two were Colt Pythons! All ended up at the dump!
