Ruger 1911 9mm question.

Just wondering if any of you have been using a SR1911 9 mm and have had to change the recoil spring to handle hotter 9mm loads? I am thinking about getting one as my primary concealed carry gun and ditching my Glock 19. I have put about a 1,000 rounds through the Glock without a single misfire or jam but just can't fall in love with it for
a number of reasons. I carried a 1911 daily for years while in the Army. I guess I am just old fashioned and can't adapt to polymers and plastics. Also prefer something with a frame safety.
