I did some searching on the old gun notes page but it seems to escape me.

Out of a Contender barrel, what are the ballistics of the 250 GNR round? From what I recall it is pretty zippy out of a 12 inch Contender.

I appreciate any information. I have an idea,of sorts.

I got almost 1800 fps out of a 6" revolver...

I'd wager 2100 fps +/- from a 10-12" Contender.

Gary gave me some load data the other day as I have a single six in the works.
Shows a 60 gr at 2153 fps
75 gr at 2174 fps
86 gr at 1802
Hot loads with Lil Gun. Not sure of barrel length.

The Banshee's have about the same capacity but I found

the .240 Banshee to be considerably faster than the .255 which is a thumper. With lighter bullets in the .240 I got 2500 fps and the .255 gets 2250 fps with a 60 gr. My .255 has a 10" and the .240 is a 12". H110 was the speedy powder for me.

My 100 yd. target with CAST 80 gr. FNGC Fantastic for ME, Cast bullets, and that old 2.5X scope!

Contender or Encore you might look at the 257 Raptor at close to 2700fps with 75 gr. bullets or the 256 Falcon at over 2700 fps with a 100 gr bullets. My grandson and I have taken quite a few animals with both. They.are my favorites.
