They make a line of very heavy duty scopes with 5"+ eye relief. Just right for the quarter rib on the #1s and for heavy recoiling calibers.

The 9.3x74R just got a 3-9x and will decide soon on the 405 WCF.

brand spanking new busted Nikon scopes. One gave up on my 10" 44 mag before I could get it zeroed and the other did the same on a AR15.

Have many, many Nikon scopes and never broke one.

Not saying these won't be the first, but had much better luck with them than Leupold.

Nikon will be my scope of choice for Africa...
