How much do the stretch frames weigh, with a 6 or 7 inch barrel?

Get a golf gun. That is the best weight.

stretch frames are normally in big calibers so most folks want a bit of extra weight. Also the weight will change with the caliber so there is really no advertised weight.

I have the Ruger .357 Maximums which are . . .

. . . "stretch frames".

The 7-1/2" one weighs 53.5 ounces.

The 10-1/2" one weighs 75.4 ounces with a 2X scope. I'd guess the gun alone at maybe 60 ounces.

Both wear steel "Dragoon" grip frames and standard Ruger wood grip panels.

Dunno if that helps or not.

Well now I have to ask the question

Is a stretch frame necessary for the 357 mag, or would a medium frame be strong enough. I thought the stretch frames were for the LARGE calibers. You guys are lots smarter about all this than I am, so I just need to get all this right in my head.

I should have looked closer before I asked

dumb questions. I thought the post said 357 man, and it really said "357 Maximum" Sorry guys

. . . I thought for a moment I had mis-typed the name of the cartridge.

No biggie.

;-)

ORG was talking about the 357 MAXIMUM, not the magnum. The

Maximum requires a stretch frame.
