mount holes? Seems some type of solvent could soften it...don't want to damage the threads trying to dig it out. Gun cleaning solvent doesn't seem to work.

Any help is greatly appreciated

It will soften & melt with heat.

The trick is what to use to apply the heat.

I've used it to unlock the glue-in benchrest action from a fiberglass stock with no damage. It works's on JB Weld also

Use Blue Lock-Tite, Or Fishing Line...

The blue Lock-Tite is better suited to most gunsmith duties.

Some fine monofilament fishing line inserted into the hole before the screw, then the screw, works well also.

I use a pistol grip soldering iron, applie to the screw head
