With the 16.25" barrel, substituted 296 for slightly slower 4227, burned clean. The bullets from Montana Bullet Works mic'd consistently right at .410, as ordered. The Cast Perf. and True Shot bullets varied from .411-.412, ordered .410. Not surprising, the MBW were much more accurate. Curious about velocity, might be time to buy a decent chrono.

Started at 28g 4227, most accurate with the 240g is 30g.

25 yd. target today, total of 6 shots, last 4 for after final scope adj., should be dead on at 50yds.

Hammer ext. is Alum. 6-cartridge carrier on stock was epoxied then one blued nail at each corner.

unless you enjoy frustration and headaches I would

pass on the chrono. You are married, so you have enough on your plate already. Speed doesn't kill. Accuracy does. Stick with the most accurate load and put the bullet in the right place and you have most of the situation licked.

Having things licked "usually" works for Puffy

I've shot it like 4-5 times over the years. They fix it of course, max. cost for a bullseyed unit is $60. Sometimes cheaper, like $35 once.

I've shot it with 10mm, .255 Banshee, .308, and of late a .30 cal. sabot right in the LCD. I can't read the last two digits.

Not sure what's out there now but the old skyscreens out there and unit on bench has some benefits. Maybe they have bluetooth now. I find them really useful for technical analysis of loads. GNR is right though. If I found a 4227 load that was dead nuts accurate and only 100 fps (say 5-7% less) than a H110-W296 load I'd be tempted to go 4227. AA1680 might be a grand contender too, H332....

Hope this doesn't violate any rules but I have a new Master Beta Chrony(blue one) that I would let go for cheap.

If this wrong, please feel free to delete.

Do you have a brother named Tom?

It's ruined more accurate loads than I can count! I once doubted the effectiveness of a 375HH load with a 300gr partition. My chronograph told me it was traveling 200fps slower than the book said. Decided to shoot a bison bull...worried about this underpowered load...80yard shot...bang- flop. Hammer of Thor....and underpowered to boot!
