Heck I've used it in house a couple of times.we lived in an old farm house had a couple of mice I couldn't catch in traps, only shot one speaker wire in half. Son was in 1st grade, went to school saying dad was shooting rats in house, lucky that was 20 years ago

Not sure how clearly it is outlined.

Likely rimfire only, #10-12 shot. CCI markets a "red capsule" now which is a loading of the old blue capsule .38/.44/.45 but has #4 shot in it! The typical loads had #8 if I remember.

#4 shot is pretty substantial compared to the half size #8. There are not near as many, maybe 25-35 pellets but they hit with the same force as a 10 ga. slung payload. Sure that's snake shot!

In all, the CCI .22 WMR used to have #10 shot in them and they were hands down the best actual snake shooting loads I've personally tried.

That's funny, My old house had a baseboard in the master BR

speckled with birdshot dents from shooting mice during winter with my old S&W 18. I've also used 45LC shot shells in the barn for the bigger rats and snakes.
