The corn field had just been planted a month or so ago so it was barely up. No hunting in it yet.

Good looking critter. Well done Kase.

45 Long Colt.

I chased and stalked that boar for probably 3 or 4 miles

Up and down the hills in the steepest section in that area before he slowed down enough for me to get a shot on him. He stayed about 75 yds away from me the whole time and was always moving. He would stop and look around and smell in the air and grunt and take off. The final stalk was so steep and full of rocks, the sole of my hunting boots came off. I had to duct tape my boot back together to get back. That hog and my Aoudad were probably the 2 hardest animals i have hunted in the states.

How many and how far were the shots?

He took off running and i shot him a second time on the run and he fell. Was kicking and trying to get up so i ran up and gave him a final shot. First 2 went thru the shoulder and lungs. Last was in the spine.

The russian boar have a lot less fat on them, so i think that probably helped with bullet performance.

Pretty impressive what that cast bullet did to the lungs
