Wearing out the G&A magazines on the rack. I did have a Super Blackhawk at the time and a model 29 was $325 in the wooden presentation box. An Automag was at least $500 and still in limited production. I think Pythons were $400. In 1981 I bought a Colt Series 70 Govt. .45 new for $290.

I remember too the Redhawk was introduced but nobody had seen any outside of the magazines. I think the 629 was introduced around that time too. I drove 100 miles round trip to look at one and trade a Colt Python for, the guy backed out on me. That was all on an average weekly income of around $80. But I was living at home.

That one slipped by me. I still have some catching up to do!
