150 -200 yard deer load
Just got access to hunting some property here in Al where I’ll have some 150-200 yard shots at white tails. Want to stick with the G2 platform.. Thinking the.257 Raptor might fill the bill or 256 Falcon! Any observations or recommendations would be appreciated
the Raptor is good out to 175 or so on whitetails
but the 256 Falcon is a much better round for the longer shots. That is one of the things we developed it for, those 200 to 250 yard shots.
257 Raptor in a 12" barrel on a G2 @ 125 yards.
The longest shot on a deer I have ever tried. Dead in four steps.

Both the 257 Raptor and 256 Falcon are good rounds
The key to any cartridge is shot placement.
The 257 Raptor kills way beyond expectations.
Sika buck taken at 90 yards with the 257 using a 87 grain Hornady.
