first my Cape buff daring us to come any closer
[image]we walked up closer to him and I took the shot on the point of shoulder. He ran a few yards and I took another shot at about where he fell. The cartridge was a 454 with I think a 325 grain JSP bullet.
Capstick would call it Death in the Long Grass.

the 2 bullet holes...bottom one broke the shoulder. Top one blew up both lungs.

GNR with good friend and PH John Abraham. Without John I would never had a shot at this big buff. John has been my friend and PH for 29 years.

not bad for hunting in 95 degree weather with borrowed clothes, borrowed gun and ammo.

To bad about your guns and gear! However, as a 454 Casull owner I am glad to see the 454 to be very effective on such an animal. How far was the shots? I am anxious to see the bullet.
