So, if a bear ever gets you....

I know GNR thinks too many extra cylinders are frivolous

and he's right in large. At least half of them just sit around. But on occasion they are so useful. It gives you another caliber option for $250-300 on your custom. With gun prices skyrocketing Gary has held this price down several years and it's only about 1/3 what a whole factory stock gun costs. More economical every day. This rig was purpose built with a .357 length cylinder window. (you know they get longer with caliber. .357,.41, .44/.45 etc) This was so I could scrounge old .357 cylinders and have them more economically re-chambered.

I have the gun done in .401 GNR (10mm on the .44 Mag. case, a baby .410 GNR if you will), and wrinkling everyone's nose, a .40 S&W extra cylinder. I have several 10mm autos so a cyl. for that might be useful, also .38-40 jumps to mind. It's fun too. A .401 Herters was always on my mind for the exotica.

As is, you can hot load the .401 GNR to your heart's desire pushing a 200 gr. to around 1600 fps from a belt gun. The 180's scream past that mark and I've not even tested the light 135 or 155s. Custom heavy 230's are around 1500 fps. With their fantastic sectional density they are nasty on penetration. We shot two rounds through a 400 lb. hog, finishing it, with the Prototype gun and Nate blasted a couple critters with his .401 GNR. If you are into .400s it's a lot to like.

I'm a little obsessed with the 10mm/40 Calibers....

I have multiple revolvers in 40 S&W, 10mm Auto, 10mm Magnum, 401 GNR and 38-40 WCF.

Yep. You are no help to my obsession either

And venture into semi auto .40s. It comes with an almost 300GNR (ballistics wise) and if you choose the 10mm for the second barrel, it also shoots 40S&W. Somehow it doesn’t headspace off of the extractor like Glocks do. If you chose the 9mm for your second barrel, and purchase a 10mm barrel separately, you could end up being able to shoot 4 different rounds out of the same firearm. You paying attention Waterboy?
As Waterboy will tell you, looking for your brass in the brush is no fun, but it looks like an interesting firearm.
I really like my Rock Island 10mm, but the brass must go into orbit 75% of the time, the other 25% of the brass ejects to about 6 yards away. Hope the Brno pistol doesn’t do that.

They had one sort of 10mm necked to .30 that was $7500!

And cost a little over 2k. Supposed to shoot into 4” at 100 yards with the 7.5BRNO round. I hope to find out in a week or two.

I went down the dual barrel auto road with a Tanfoglio in 9mm and .40. The problem is they each have different POI's. What I should have done, as I later figured out, was to buy another slide for the other barrel so that the sights would not have to be changed each time I changed barrels. I finally got to the point where I didn't want to look at the mistake again and sold it.

not necessarily frivolous, just not the best thing to do

in most cases every time you change cylinders you have to re-sight the gun back in as very seldom will 2 calibers shoot to the same point of aim. Plus quite often 2 of the cylinders will be the same power. A while back we did 5 cylinders for one person. And 2 of them were, for all practical purposes, the same. One was the 45 ACP while the other was 45 Auto Rim.

Anyway, having the gun the way you want it is why they call it a custom gun. So have it built your way. Pay no attention to my rambling.

Man I like that one!
