I’m no gunsmith at all, that’s why most everything goes to Gary and his guys. I wanted to add a little bling to this old Linebaugh Big 5, (2 digit) early build. Fitted a new RW Gripframe to the gun, then fitted the micarta. Got a bottle of brass black for the antique look. Added 2 coats and rubbed off more in the “wear areas” to make it look like actual use of an older gun. I think the discolored brass really accents the original old plum colored bluing. Scuffed up the micarta to make it a little dull too.

Very Nice!

Ronnie would hurry up and made a 4 degree for the FA 83.
Micarta can be a little slick but treating my Elkskin gloves with 50% mineral oil and 50% bees wax gives the ability to hang on to the harder recoiling pistols.

It's looking good toward your goals

Things that come pre-used or worn are always comforting. In the woods they look more at home.
