Long seating 10mm bullets in revolvers...

Compared some of the 10mm Auto rounds I loaded for my GP100 with some 10mm Magnum rounds. Not much difference at all.

Makes me wonder about the need for a 10mm Magnum in a short cylinder gun. The 10mm Magnum case is beefier than the 10mm Auto, but that's not very important in a revolver cylinder compared to an auto's weak spot at the ramp.

Much like WB and I have done with our 40 S&W Trail Guns, the same holds true with the 10mm Auto.

The above loaded 10mm Auto rounds works just fine in my Reeder 10mm Trail Gun too.

Have you sectioned a 40 case yet? Would be interesting.

I didn't section that one. Was on a Forum discussing...

Case capacity. I can see the 10mm Magnum in an automatic or to a none handloader. But, this loading technique provides a lot of wiggle room for a prudent handloader.

I think Huey and WB are twin brothers from a

But, information still accurate. I've had zero problem from bullet pull from the Trail Gun either.

I can easily push a 200 grn from the 10mm TG at 1300 fps with pressures way below maximum. Plenty of power from a Single Six size gun.

Yep, they don't color inside the lines!

Great choices if you like 10mm bullets. I sure do...

I can see the advantage of the 10mm Mag in a Blackhawk for sure.

No way to go wrong with the 401 GNR. S sidenote on that is the Lee 38-40 Factory Crimp Die does a great job of crimping the 401 GNR too. Bullets with no cannelure are no problem.

My love for the 38-40 is well known. In a modern gun it'll duplicate the 41 Magnum.

I can see your good case tension on the

Bullet’s base. That’s a great old Indian trick isn’t it.

A quarter inch more case makes a difference!!!

Easy to add a couple hundred for to these going to magnum powders. The 10mm GP100 with the TK Moon Clips is very useful.

Ditto on the tight chambered Trail Guns. Both the 40 S&W and 10mm mimic the next cartridge up the scale. Hard to see a down side.
