is chambered in 9mm with a 5 shot cylinder. It is based on a Single Six that we converted from rimfire to centerfire. The gun is new from the ground up with new barrel, cylinder, gripframe, grips and sights. It has a 6" barrel and has the interchangeable blade front sight with the gold bead. It has the Belt Mountain base pin for a tighter lock up. It is finished in our soft satin Vapor Honed Black Chromex with satin stainless small parts. It has had the Positive Performance Package and is very slick and accurate. It has the Gunfighter grip with a really nice set of blue and gray laminated grips made and fit to it. The Trail Gun is normally $1995 on the customer's base gun so it would usually be priced around $2500. It's the perfect Trail Gun, lightweight but with plenty of power. It is sale priced at $1795.

Probably the single best Trail Gun caliber...

Mine is a 9mm/38 Super Dual Cylinder gun.

The 9mm is excellent in a revolver and ammo is cheaper than 22 Magnum. Or, it was...

A fine example. Every true enthusist needs his.

I had one done to my specifications, reflecting my personal character and likes. Mine's probably too flashy, and I like .40 S&W that few others see my angle. But I get my friends give me unwanted .40 brass, seat it long, and dose up as a full 10mm.

However the 9mm cal. gives up little to my favored .40 S&W revolver load. A 155 gr. .400 plated hp at 1250 fps. *Thanks Huey. You can load 158 gr. cast in a 9mm case and just let the .356" (re-sized) bullet hang out a little into the cylinder chamber throat. Some .358" will likely stick in the 9mm cylinder chamber throats. The 9mm case gets thick a little fast for the bullets much past 140 gr. That's why many 147 gr. 9mm projectiles have a tapered or boat-tail.

Overall for .40 S&W I really like the old Lyman/Ideal 170 gr. SWC HP cast at 1100 fps. Tolerable in a light gun it sure hits hard. The fragile nose imparts commendable energy transfer with the remaining solid base continuing to penetrate deeply. A real sleeper bullet, from 100 yrs. ago, in any .400 cal. gun.

Double custom, before customized .32 H&R, and after; a little more serious and versatile .40 S&W. The little .32 H&R demanded bullets .311-.312".

The 9mm can be loaded long too...

The throats on mine are .356". The GT Hollow Point Cast Bullets work great.

What calibers are trail guns avalible in?

Assuming it's on the Single Six Frame, I've got several...

250 GNR
25-20
256 Win Mag
327 Federal/32 Magnum
38 Super/9mm
40 S&W
10mm

Can get 218 Bee, 30 Carbine, 32-20, etc. I think the O.M. could be 38 Special or 357 Magnum too. Gary will have to answer that. Bet I've missed some too...

Gary mentioned the 25 ACP in the Bearcat, which made me start wondering...

Huey, I think the 25acp would make a nice small game round.

Wish they made a good semi auto "Sporting" pistol in it, read not too long ago about a gunsmith that would convert Ruger MKII's to 25acp, but that was decades ago. 22's are too cheap and effective for it to ever be a thing though. Even the 380 can be a good target\plinking option if was ever offered in a suitable platform.

The .25 ACP takes a .251" bullet, reworked to .257"

and using 60/80 gr. .25-20 bullets it would be fun.

32 H&R necked to .257?

327 Federal necked to .257? Something tells me Gary has already thought of it.

250 GNR is the 32 Magnum necked to .257" bullets..

Have it in an octagon barrel Trail Gun. Started with a Single Seven Base Gun. Kept the seven shot configuration and it's my favorite small game gun.

The 25-20 has long since been my favorite cartridge. But, the 250 GNR has an advantage in the small fram guns.

Nice. I have 357/9mm conv. Great fun! Nm
