Ammo

Over the past couple of years every time I would go to Cabela's or Bass Pro I most likely would pick up a box of ammo and put in the box in the basement. I bought .357, .44 magnum, .45ACP and .454 Casull. Every time I bought a box I had forgotten about the previous boxes. It is clear now that I could hold of an invasion. My wife was downright pissy about it. In light of certain developments in the world recently, my purchases don't look so stupid now. At one time I even questioned my own sanity when I saw all that ammo. Not only did a buy a lot, I already had a lot before buying any. Combine it all together and there's enough to partially restock a gun store. As a side note please be careful if you go to the store, as I'm sure there are guys just waiting for someone to come out with something everyone needs right now and they would be happy to take it off your hands in a very unfriendly way. Take care and stay safe everyone.

Unfortunately it doesn't work that way for me...

If I buy it or make it I shoot it. Right now I have an estimated:

135 rounds 9mm
350 rds 22lr
100 rds 45 acp
50 rounds 327 Fed (but nothing currently chambered for it
50 rounds 32-20

Hopefully I'll be making 100 rounds each of 9mm, 45 Colt, and 45 ACP the next few days. I really need that Dillon 550. . .

The less anybody knows the better...

The only people

who know where any of my things are are the people who live
in this house.

I figure (100) rounds is plenty, (50) per gun

for the .50 BMG's, that's not excessive is it?!

Some people fear

a giant social unrest as food and supplies become scarce. Me, I'm not one of them but am certain the supply won't be at the normal levels we have become accustomed to. Honestly, I think the only people even somewhat prepared for this were the so called "doomsday preppers". This came on so fast there wasn't a great deal of time to prepare.

a good point Tom

accept wouldn't you know, .380, 9mm and .45 ACP. I have an estimated 75 rounds of each and all mags are full. Every thing else including 41 GNR is over 100. My .556/223 in the thousands. Some lead tips (because I didn't sign the Genova convention articles of war) some fmj. I have almost 600 rounds of 32/20, 250 of 25-20 and 200 218 Bee. I'm slacking on the 38-40, only 50 but I did just buy an 1895 Marlin model 1894 round barrel.

But if I get quarantined much reloading to do. I'll start with my preferred self defense round the .357. A fella had 400 of the old Remington 158 grain SHP truncated bullets. Most accurate bullets I ever used in the .357 maxi.

I have always bought ammo and reloading supplies when I was working and making good money. Then when things were slow i could shoot and reload.
For the last few years I have been working and making good money so i am good on ammo. One can always substitute things like toilet paper. if i run out of food i can always ambush one of them four leg critters than have a trail beat across my lawn. but if these horders run me of coffee i am not going to be happy.

I'm with you on the coffee.
